Community Support

On Monday, September 21, 2026, Dix Street Elementary suffered a fire that caused the building to close indefinitely.  Any items inside of Dix Street Elementary School are not accessible until the building has been assessed for all damages.

In the meantime, learning must continue. Many students will be in need replacements of school supplies, consumable classroom supplies, and items to keep students comfortable.

Wow! Thank you to our community for a HUGE amount of school supplied donated. Thanks to your support, our families will not need to replace school supplies.

We extend our deepest gratitude to Meijer, Perrigo, Parker Hannifin, Arbor Credit Union, Honor Credit Union, Home Ministries, Harvest 10:2, and the many individual donors who contributed school supplies. Thanks to these generous contributions, all student supply needs for the start of school have been fully satisfied at this time, and parents will not need to purchase initial school supplies. As we continue to assess smoke and water damage in our building, we will share updates if individual family needs arise down the road.

If you already collected supplies and need to know where to drop them off, donations can be delivered directly to:

2950 Center St
Allegan, MI 49010

During the hours of 8am-3pm.
